QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution to condemn the United States' decision to expand drone attacks to Quetta on the whims that Taliban leaders were hiding in the provincial capital; it called upon the federal government to play its role to stop Washington from going ahead with its plan.

Speaker Mohammad Aslam Bhootani chaired the session on Saturday.

Maulana Wasay senior minister on behalf of Sardar Aslam Bizenjo, Jaffar Khan Mandokhel, Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, Syed Ehsan Shah, Abdul Khaliq Bashardost and Jye Parkash tabled the joint amended resolution that was passed unanimously.

The speakers accused the US for attacking independent states on whims to achieve its global agenda to exploit the natural resources of sovereign nations and maintained that World trade centre attack was used to topple Taliban regime in Kabul, chemical devices was used as weapon to crush the Baath Party government in Baghdad and Fata came under drone attacks to eliminate the so-called al Qaeda and Taliban leadership.

They claimed that hundreds of innocent people have been killed in drone attacks in Waziristan, Bajaur, Landikotal and Bannu areas, but the Washington administration totally failed to pinpoint the killing of any major al Qaeda or Taliban leader in these attacks.

They asserted that the US occupied Iraq to control the oil in Middle East and the occupation of Afghanistan was aimed to keep a watch on China and Russia, saying the Drone attacks in FATA was being used to justify stationing of US and Nato forces in Kabul.

They said that President Obama and Think Tank of United States instead of carrying out Drone attacks should negotiate with the Balochistan government to resolve the issue through dialogues and stated that no Taliban leader was hiding in any part of Balochistan including Quetta.

The second resolution that was tabled by Dr Fauzia Nazir Marri was against the hunting of Haubra and other birds in Balochistan and stated that despite a ban imposed by the provincial government on the hunting of precious birds, the federal government issued permits to foreign dignitaries for hunting without taking the provincial government into confidence.

Asad Baloch, Aniuddin Shamas, Ehsan Shah, Habibur Rehman Muhammadhasni, Jan Ali Chengazi and Maulana Samad Akundzada participating in the debate said that issuance of permission and allotment of land to foreign dignitaries’, particularly Arab rulers from Gulf States by the federal government, was interference in the provincial autonomy.

They said the land in Balochistan belonged to provincial government and the federal government had no authority either to allot land or allow for hunting without prior approval from provincial government emphasizing upon the federal government to cancel its permission orders.

The adjournment motion of Jaffar Mandokhel related to forcibly expelling of Pakhtuns from Karachi was turned into resolution that was unanimously adopted, calling upon the federal government to direct the Sindh government to take the notice of the MQM threats to Pakhtuns to quit the city.

Capt (retd) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, Maulvi Abdul Bari, Rubina Irfan and Sultan Khan Tareen speaking in the debate asked the MQM leadership to change its anti-Pakhtun stance as it was creating troubles for the Pakhtuns in Karachi and warned that it would have negative affects on the national solidarity.

The speaker after approval from house admitted the adjournment motion of Mr. Mandokhel for general discussion on Tuesday and the motion was pertained to the denial of Balochistan share in federal institutions and companies particularly in PIA.
