LARKANA: The chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari along with four of his classmates from Oxford University arrived at the camp office of President House Naudero on Wednesday.

After a brief stay there - under tight security arrangements – he visited the Bhuttos’ mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto accompanied by Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfikar Mirza, Agha Siraj Durrani and general secretary PPP Larkana district Anwar Bhutto. He sat besides his mother’s grave (Benazir Bhutto) and, with tears in his eyes, placed a floral wreath and offered prayer. He later waved to the people gathered at the mausoleum from the roof. While he was waving to the people a group of local residents from Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto started chanting slogans for the early arrest of Benazir Bhutto’s assassins. They also demonstrated when he came out of the mausoleum.

He along with his entourage visited Larkana campus of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST). As he arrived at the university the management and the students welcomed him and his friends. He took a round of the campus, mixed with the students and gave out autographs. Abdul Razzak Soomro, former ambassador to UAE and now a trustee of SZABIST, and campus in-charge M.B.Soomro briefed him. He appreciated the standard of education, the library and the FM radio station.

As the news about the arrival of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari broke out, people came out on roads to welcome him as it was his maiden appearance in the city. In an unusual move, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari came out of his vehicle waved to the people. During his visit to Larkana city, he made stops near the shrine of Qaim Shah Bokhari, Bundar road and fish market. He purchased grains, fruit and traditional gifts of Ajrak from a cloth shop on Bundar road where a large number of people gathered showered rose petals on him and his classmates.

With Rangers Personnel and police escorting him he also visited the on-going development work being carried out in the city before returning to Naudero. He did not talk to the press despite repeated requests.
