President Zardari arrives in Tehran

TEHRAN: President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Tehran on Tuesday on a two-day visit to represent Pakistan at the Economic Cooperation Organisation summit.

The President was received at the airport by Iranian First Vice President Parvaiz Davoodi and Interior Minister Sadiq Mahsouli.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi is already in Iran to participate in the preliminary meetings of the 10-member ECO.

President Zardari, during his talks with the Iranian leaders, will discuss issues of border security, the Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project and supply of power from Iran to Balochistan.

On the sidelines of the ECO summit, the President is also likely to have bilateral meetings with leaders of other ECO member states.
