Performance of agriculture department criticised
HYDERABAD: Chairman of Sindh Hari Committee, comrade Azhar Jatoi said that due to the inefficiency of the agriculture department, the wheat crop has been attacked by a virus resulting in huge losses to poor farmers.
Speaking at the central committee meeting of his party at Baba-e-Sindh house here on Sunday, he demanded of the agriculture department to adopt preventive measures immediately to save the wheat crop in the province.
He also demanded that all the lands and forests of Sindh should be distributed among the local people.
The meeting supported the lawyers’ movement and showed readiness to participate in the long march and sit-in. Comrade Jatoi also warned politicians that if they failed to learn a lesson from the past, a ruthless dictatorship will once again be imposed on the country.
It is an irony that democracy is being murdered at the hands of democracy, he said and added that unless the independence of judiciary was restored and the supremacy of parliament and law was guaranteed, a poor hari (peasant) or laborer could never get justice.
