Primary school blown up in Bajaur Agency
KHAR: Miscreants blew up a primary school in Nawagai area of the Bajaur tribal region on Tuesday night, officials said.
Huge explosives were planted inside the building near Sahibzadagan village which exploded late in the night. The building was completely destroyed. No casualty was reported. A total of 35 schools have been destroyed in the area during the last few months.
Officials said that this was the first act of terrorism since militants and security forces declared ceasefire in the area. Sources said that security forces had taken complete control of Nawagai and established government writ in the area.
Political Agent Shafeerullah Khan on Wednesday directed all educational institutions in Nawagai to open from Thursday. He also ordered reopening of the main road to start traffic. Levies and paramilitary forces have been deployed at check posts across the region.
