The establishment division is working overtime issuing orders transferring to Lahore officers sought by Governor Salman Taseer to cope with the challenge posed by PML-N legislators and workers.

A number of district management group (DMG) officers have been asked to report to the government of Punjab after the appointment of Najeebullah Malik as chief secretary.

Mohammad Jilal Sikandar, a BS-20 officer working as Punjab’s secretary services, has been asked to report to the federal government and Islamabad Capital Territory’s Deputy Commissioner Aamar Ali Ahmad has been removed from the post and made an ‘officer on special duty’ (OSD).

Aamir Ahmed is son of Saeed Mehdi, special adviser to the outgoing chief minister Shahbaz Sharif. The federal government has moved swiftly to post police officers of its choice in the province after appointing Khwaja Khalid Farooq as the new IGP.

Habibur Rehman, a BS-21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan posted in Balochistan and Mirza Mohammad Yasin, another BS-21 officer working with FIA, had been transferred to Punjab.

SSP Inayatullah Farooqi has been given the charge of the city of Rawalpindi.
