HYDERABAD: PML-N activists continued their protests across Sindh for the third consecutive day on Friday against the disqualification of Sharif brothers.

Reports received from Nawabshah, the home town of President Asif Ali Zardari, said that police resorted to baton charge on PML-N activists in which three workers were injured. Police also arrested over one dozen protesters.

In Hyderabad, PML-N activists staged demonstrations outside Aurangzeb Masjid Gari Khata after Friday prayers. Speaking on the occasion, PML-N leaders said that the disqualification of Sharif brothers was aimed at taking over Punjab which had become an eyesore for the rulers.

They said the other objective of the rulers was to sabotage the lawyers’ long march for the restoration of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and other judges for which the PML-N had extended full support.

The PML-N activists of Jamshoro district chapter, led by Abdul Hameed Rajput also staged protest demonstration outside the Hyderabad press club against the disqualification of Sharif brothers.

PML-N protests, against disqualification of Sharif brothers, were also held in Shikarpur and Badin.

Meanwhile, PPP activists also staged protest demonstrations in different towns against the torching of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Asif Zardari’s portraits and Ms Bhutto’s memorial in Punjab.
